“Gaming doesn’t have a culture” is what I am sure a lot of you have either been told or have someone that spends most of their free time on video games. In this article have written for you I will dive into the dense culture of gaming with the hope of giving you more appreciation.
Gaming Culture

Video Game Culture is defined as a “culture encompasses the social practices, behaviors, and communities that have emerged around video gaming as a popular form of entertainment.” (EBSCO Research insert). With this in mind, we are able to understand that in the world of gaming, where people get angry over losing their favorite battle character, that not only are there unspoken rules and regulations put in place when meeting another player online or in real, but can also be incredibly inviting and kind. Gaming Communities

Now, lets look at the communities that gamers have made over years through passion and determination. Not only can we analyze how certain games have certain customs but the overall umbrella that covers all types of gamers that are inviting to new players as well. Getting into video games can be quite overwhelming, as there are so many choices, but i can assure you that most of the communities and online forums are incredibly helpful, and all of this help is just a search away in the task bar of your current browser.
However, when I say that most of the time the communities are helpful, I sadly say that due to other more negative sides of the community altogether, although it may be easy to navigate online gaming trolls as a veteran, it is quite disheartening in the early stages of gaming; especially as an online gamer. But that should not stop you, as everything in this world has its downsides, so does the gaming community. Learn more about communities here!
